Fish Diversion
Why use wedge wire screen in fish protection project?
Many industrial facilities extract water from lakes, rivers or coastal waters for cooling installations, hydropower or water supply. The entrainment of floating debris, fish or jellyfish can have adverse effects on industrial processes and cause fish mortality. The wedge wire screen effectively separates sand, silt, debris, fish and aquatic growth from the intake water.
WEB WIRE MESH can offer two types of screen products:
Wedge screen panel
Wedge wire screen panels are used for fish protection projects in irrigation diversions and hydro intake structures, providing a friendly environmental for streams, lakes and reservoirs. These wedge screens are used in dams and river ecosystems to protect fish away from hydroelectric turbines and pumps. All wedge wire screens panel can be customized, there are a variety of profile wire and support rod sizes to fit your application.
Wedge screen tube
Wedge screen tubes (rotary drum screen) effectively protect fish in irrigation ditches or other open channel flow situations. The screen tubes are ideal for the containment of threatened fish within a water body and the exclusion of undesirable species from such protected aquatic systems. The screen tubes are available in the undershot and overshot configurations and are often used for hatchery isolation and hatchery water intake. It is very effective in protecting juvenile fish.
