Perforated spiral welded pipes are made of perforated sheet which coiled to the unfinished piping according to certain spiral line's angle, then finished with automatically welded of continuous sheets of perforated metal. When squeezed in some parts from external, under outside pressure, the forced part will have reduced or closed gap and ensures the reliability of sand control. Compared with straight welded tube, spiral welded tubing is approximately 15% stronger. Spiral metal tube does great job in holding high pressure and high impacts. The spiral welded pipe is mainly used in the petroleum industry as interior and outer protective covers for petroleum sand control pipes.
